Tractive shock absorber BMW M 1000 R eX-Cellent-PA.

High-performance shock absorber with electronically adjustable rebound and manually adjustable high- and low-speed compression. Spring preload hydraulically adjustable.

This shock absorber uses a damping shim stack developed specifically for its application. The aluminum shock absorber housing ensures maximum thermal stability through optimal heat dissipation. This leads not only to stable performance but also to longer life of the shock absorber and its oil. To create the best performance for each model, we use high-flow pistons, low-friction seals and special shim stacks. We use heavy duty parts such as micro-finished induction hardened 42CrMo 16mm piston rods, best quality bearings and stainless steel bushings. Each shock absorber can be opened and serviced, or tuned for the customer’s application. For all shock absorbers, there is a range of springs from softer than standard to harder.

This shock absorber fits plug and play into the motorcycle with the original connector. This keeps the original controls operational. No cancellation kit or other modification to the motorcycle or its wiring harness is required. The shock absorber incorporates the Tractive DDA (Dynamic Damping Adjustment) damping valve. The engine control unit does not notice any electrical differences between the original damping valve and the Tractive DDA damping valve. However, the Tractive DDA valve is more stable, has a wider adjustment range and adjusts faster than the original valve.

The main advantage of a damper with an external reservoir is that the shock absorber contains significantly more oil and also has significantly more cooling surface than a shock absorber without a reservoir. In addition, it offers the ability to control the compression (input) oil flow. Two separate controls regulate damping respectively at low shock absorber speed (slow undulations in the track/road) and at high shock absorber speed (sudden bumps or holes). The fixed piggybag fits nicely into the frame of the motorcycle.

The robustness of the preload adjuster makes it possible to drive in the toughest conditions and highest loads without problems. The large adjustment range of 15 mm (unless otherwise specified) is typically double the standard range and much more than almost all aftermarket brands. It enables load compensation and optimizes the balance in the motorcycle. The PA can be fine-tuned in more than 60 clicks. The hose connection allows easy placement of the adjustment knob.
