Brembo brake disc Yamaha R1 2015- T-Drive.

Developed to win on the track, the T-Drive brake disc has proved itself successfully in Superbikes and Supersport. Now these T-Drives are also included in the Brembo HPK program. New technologies provide a lot of improvement. The most important technique is to connect the friction disc with so-called T-pins to the inner heart. The T-pins are locked in place by locking plates, which allow limited radial and axial movement. This creates a floating brake disc with no radial forces.

Lighter
The T-Drive is much lighter than a conventional floating brake disc. Since radial forces no longer occur, the friction disc can be made narrower. This means that there only needs to be material where the brake pads engage. An additional advantage is a larger space between the friction disc and the inner heart, which greatly improves heat dissipation. To further improve heat dissipation, the T-Drive’s 5.5mm thick friction disc also features ventilation holes of varying diameters to allow the brake pads to run in evenly.
